AT&T’s Alien Labs: Malware Designed to Target Severs Hosting VMware Virtual Machines The DarkSide Russian-speaking cybecrime group, which announced May 13 it was closing its ransomware-as-a-service operation, had earlier completed a Linux version of its malware designed to target ESXi servers hosting VMware virtual machines, according to AT&T’s Alien Labs.
